Reserve Team Match Report - Away Vs Brislington Cricketers Reserves

W4-0

After two wins back to back the reserve team faced a brislington team a place and point above us.

1-0:
we started very well, after 5 mins we were 1-0 up thanks to confusion between there keeper and defender. the ball fell to Nathan corney who volleyed it into the goal.

yellow card:
we had lots of possession and chances during the first half, and we even had a penalty claim turned away. Wayne hudd was booked just before the half time break, after some good shadowing of there number 6, he then swiped his legs away and sent him 4 feet in the air, he ref had no choice but to show him the yellow card.

2-0:
after a positive and short half time talk, we came flying into the second half and in the 48th min we scored our 2nd goal. again there defenders tried to tackle each other and Carl O'Connell picked up the loose ball. he then put the ball in the back of the net to make it 2-0 to the "town"

3-0:
we made it 3-0 in the 53rd min after some great passing from Adam Morris and Nathan corney, Nathan put nick through on goal for him to slot it past the oncoming goalkeeper.

yellow card:

nick hingston was to follow Wayne into the refs book, but he wasn't the only one. nick turned with the ball, which rolled in front of him. he stretched for the ball catching the defenders foot. as nick was on the floor, the defender fell due to the challenge, but he made a miracles' recovery to kick nick in the back. the referee calmed the situation and produced the red card for the brislington defender.

4-0:
in the 70th min we got our 4th goal of the game. again some great build up play, Carl got forward to put nick through and he finished with ease!!

other match highlights were substitute Chris Hodges dipping shot which came very close, super sub Ross lee came on in the 75th min and produced a great performance. he played right wing and was on fire, lots of great runs, and two super crosses which didn't make the 16 year old look out of place. the man of the match award was given to James "jimmer" Holbrook for his solid defensive performance and for his late attacking run, dribbling past three players and winning free-kick.

over all a very good team performance and a big win against a team that were 1 point and 1 place above us. we also managed to climb a couple of places in the table due to the great result.
